December 2015: This page is being maintained as a record of the Millers Point Spring Picnic of 2014 which was organised by a group that became the Friends of Millers Point.
Below are photos taken through the day. The following links are stories about the Spring Picnic on this site and elsewhere. The first link is recommended…

These photos from the Millers Point Spring Picnic are in order through the day, starting with Flo and her family who came to enjoy the day with her (above left), and Stairwell to Heaven in Argyle Place (above and following) as they sang to an audience on the Village Green.
Quentin Dempster ran a Q&A session in the Abraham Mott Hall. This was the one serious note during our day of celebration. A highlight was to hear Theo (Tao) Gofers, the architect of Sirius, talk about the building and the passion he has for it and the people it has housed for the past 35 years, such as Myra whose stories you can read elsewhere on this site.
Below are the invitation and other details of the Spring Picnic…
You have captured the day very well. Hope we can have some audio up here too soon
Thanks Kelli.
Adding some audio is a great idea.
I will see if anyone recorded some of Quentin Dempster’s Q&A.
I can’t believe I missed King Tide on the Village Green. They are now my favourite group. Hear them at http://www.kingtidemusic.com
If you want to hear fifty Pointers talking about living in Millers Point, check the next news item.
There is some great audio and also lots of video on the Herald site Millers Point: Homes under the hammer

Thank you everyone for helping to make the Picnic Day such a huge success. We are a very vibrant , diverse Community and this was evident yesterday. The creativity, the spirit, and the laughter helped to create an atmosphere which is unique to the Millers Point Community. As a community we will do this together.
Cheers Paddi
This was a close-knit community before the picnic, but we have had many residents telling us Sunday was their best day ever in Millers Point.
The government decided not to go half way with their Millers Point evictions, but instead to remove every Housing NSW tenant, every co-op housing resident, and all other tenants who live here subject to myriad agreements and leases. They have pushed us further together as a community, and this was able to happen because you kept together the Spring Picnic organising committee.
