Ian Milliss’ practice is based on cultural activism working with community and political groups. Some of the many issues he has worked with include Green Bans, unionism and artist’s rights. In the last two years he has exhibited in: a solo survey exhibition at Artspace; a joint exhibition with Lucas Ihlein at the Art Gallery of NSW and the Redfern Biennale 2014 and has written for many leading arts publications. Ian’s work We. Together. Then. – We. Together. Now. references the Green Bans movement in a powerful message of enduring strength and victory through unity, providing an historical context of the current sell off and community resistance.
