Forced Out

Forced Out is an intimate character-driven documentary that gets to the heart of the people most affected by the State Government’s decision to sell the public housing in Millers Point, Dawes Point and The Rocks. Filmed over two years, this film goes behind the headlines and addresses the economic, societal and historical consequences, as well as the human cost.

A short preview of Forced Out was shown at NSW Parliament on the anniversary of the announcement to relocate the community. The new preview focuses more on the people of Millers Point and can be seen here.

Director Blue Lucine is commencing the critical edit period and needs your help to fund this important film. Forced Out has been approved by DAF – the Documentary Australia Foundation. Tax deductible donations can be made here.

Blue, and her colleague Helen Barrow, have spent months and months filming in Millers Point, and speaking to everyone involved in an attempt to show all sides of this story as it unfolds. The documentary lets people speak for themselves, and if it can be edited in the next few months, it could be ready to show while this issue and this community are still alive.

Please share this story and help Forced Out become a reality by making a donation, large or small.

    Hi Blue,

My name is Peter. I was a long term resident of Millers Point, but more importantly I am a trailer producer/editor. When the time comes please get in touch and I will do my best to assist you in the production of a doco trailer which you will need for festival submissions and sales. I know this is a great story.

Peter just saw your comment. I am not sure Blue has seen it but thanks so much for the offer of help. I will let her know.
